Smith Associates grew in tough times Smith Associates Architects, PLLC is an architectural / interior design firm located in the City of Rochester. Our goal is to meet each new challenge with a fresh, distinctive, cost-effective and timeless solution. I am a Rochester native and graduated from Alfred in drafting, Miami of Ohio in urban design and UB School of Architecture in 1984 with my masters. area, then returned to Rochester and worked for 12 years before opening Smith Associates. This is where I grew up. after graduating, I married and wish to raise my family in the region where I grew up. As well, it is a wonderful community to increase a family. Rochester is a dynamic city rich in American history, natural beauty and culturally as strong as any major city. We purchased and renovated the old Humane Society of Rochester, aka: the city dog pound building, as an office with then a staff of four. Within S A, we have a motto that permeates how we approach our craft: "If we only do what is asked of us from our clients, we have not begun to serve. So why select Smith Associates? Beyond proficient architectural services, the most important attribute is our passion and sensitivity. We draw inspiration from one another as we work together, with a collective spark and a sense of the possible. At S A we go beyond expectations and find creative solutions. We strive to develop creative, practical designs that exceed our client's expectations and optimizing opportunities not at the expense of, but for the advantage of the client and end user. The level of talented professionals from this area is outstanding! With RIT, the UR, Eastman and all of the other colleges make this area a gold mine when it comes to talent. Rochester, being home to three of the most innovative companies in the world at the turn of the century left an indelible footprint of innovation and prominence. Our company has developed a diverse "extended partnership" of sorts by networking with artisans, craftsmen, industrial designers, masons, landscapers, university professors and builders. We practice the art in architecture. We transform underutilized space to revenue producing space. We offer cost-effective creativity. Smith Associates was formed in 2005. I was fortunate to build a dedicated client base utilizing my creative amplitude with my staff and "extended partners". Smith Associates is blessed to have a strong and diverse client base. I travel as much as I can and love to be with myfamily. I love to tinker and creating something from cast away materials. I am very passionate about repurposing materials in creative ways whether in architecture, furnishings or art. Though the economic winds have shifted to other markets in the world there is a lasting resonance of excellence and innovation that has become rooted in Rochester's DNA. This is what separates Rochester from it's neighboring cities. We are dedicated to excellence in all aspects of design with a team management approach that has proven successful for our clients.
